Job Overview
This full-time onsite position as a Cash Poster is based near Kona Community Hospital in Kealakekua, Hawaii. The role presents an excellent chance for those looking to start or advance their career within the healthcare revenue cycle sector with a competitive hourly wage plus a sign-on bonus. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
Primary Responsibilities
- Accurately post daily deposits and investigate any exceptions.
- Apply payments, adjustments, and denials to patient accounts each day.
- Research exceptions related to checks, credit cards, and electronic funds transfers daily.
- Respond to departmental inquiries about payments and escalate issues to supervisors when necessary.
- Reconcile electronic postings for applicable payers routinely.
- Conduct weekly reconciliation of unidentified accounts to prevent prolonged unidentified payments beyond 15 business days.
- Perform daily audits ensuring balance across lockbox, vouchers, live checks, and credit cards.
- Participate in meetings, training sessions, and educational seminars to enhance understanding and job skills.
- Promptly address emails and phone messages from staff and leadership.
- Carry out other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent credential.
- At least one year of cash posting experience in a healthcare environment such as hospital, physician office, or similar.
- Minimum of one year of office experience involving high-volume and precise numeric data entry.
- Six months or more experience in medical billing or accounts receivable processes.
- Strong ability to perform mathematical calculations necessary for reporting tasks.
