Position Overview
We are seeking a devoted Preschool Teacher to become part of our team. This role involves supporting classroom management and executing Cadence's education programs under the guidance of the School Director and Lead Teacher. The teacher will nurture a safe and stimulating space that attends to children's physical, social, emotional, developmental, and behavioral needs, including support for children with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Responsibilities include maintaining daily routines, aiding curriculum delivery, fostering positive relationships with children and their families, and upholding safety and licensing standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Create a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere where every child is respected and cared for.
- Welcome children and their families daily to build professional and friendly connections.
- Help identify and address individual developmental, behavioral, cultural, and educational needs, including adherence to IEPs and behavior support plans.
- Assist the Lead Teacher in designing and implementing age-appropriate curriculum and signature Cadence programs.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with families, colleagues, and supervisors using approved communication channels.
- Adhere to the Cadence Education Safety and Supervision Manual, documenting and reporting incidents or accidents as required.
- Support management and documentation of child behavior, escalating issues following Cadence guidelines.
- Comply with the organization's policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- Participate in mandatory meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities, which may occur outside standard working hours.
Qualifications and Skills
- Demonstrated commitment to following safety protocols such as name-to-face accountability, food allergy procedures, bottle-feeding guidelines, and safe sleep standards.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a classroom team environment.
- Proficient in speaking, reading, and writing in English.
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related area preferred; however, meeting state licensing requirements is mandatory.
- Previous experience in early childhood or group care settings is favored.
- Must satisfy all state licensing qualifications for teachers in licensed childcare centers.
- Ability to obtain and maintain necessary background checks and health clearances.
- Child Development Associate (CDA) credential preferred but not compulsory if state criteria are fulfilled.
Work Schedule and Conditions
- Flexibility is crucial as schedules may change in response to enrollment, staffing, or operational demands.
- Work hours may vary and are not guaranteed to be fixed eight-hour shifts.
- Start and end times may differ daily and cannot be assured to remain constant.
