SSP Canada manages multiple dining establishments at Toronto Pearson International Airport. The Utility staff play a crucial role in ensuring these locations remain clean and sanitary for both guests and team members. Key Responsibilities
- Foster a welcoming guest environment by keeping work areas clean and hygienic
- Clean all surfaces and kitchen equipment, including floors, ceilings, walls, windows, furniture, hoods, vents, grills, refrigerators, counters, and storage zones
- Clear and reset tables in dining spaces between seatings and transport service ware to the kitchen for washing
- Remove food scraps from dishes, pots, and pans; wash manually or load dishwashers and return items to designated storage
- Sanitize equipment using approved chemicals to maintain food safety standards; may involve handling heavy equipment
- Receive supply deliveries, moving goods between storage and work areas
- Stock, date, rotate food items and monitor their temperatures
Skills and Requirements
- At least 6 months' experience in retail or food service roles
- Preferred: High school diploma
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills
- English language comprehension to interact with guests and understand instructions
- Experience resolving guest service challenges
- Possession of any legally required food handling permits
- Possession of brand-specific certifications as needed
- Capability to stand for extended periods and work in restricted spaces
- Ability to obtain a Transport Canada Security Clearance
- Physical ability to lift objects up to 50 pounds
- Comfortable working in diverse temperature conditions, including cold storage environments
