SSP Canada manages multiple dining establishments at Toronto Pearson International Airport. The Utility staff play a crucial role in ensuring these locations remain clean and sanitary for both guests and team members. Key Responsibilities

  • Foster a welcoming guest environment by keeping work areas clean and hygienic
  • Clean all surfaces and kitchen equipment, including floors, ceilings, walls, windows, furniture, hoods, vents, grills, refrigerators, counters, and storage zones
  • Clear and reset tables in dining spaces between seatings and transport service ware to the kitchen for washing
  • Remove food scraps from dishes, pots, and pans; wash manually or load dishwashers and return items to designated storage
  • Sanitize equipment using approved chemicals to maintain food safety standards; may involve handling heavy equipment
  • Receive supply deliveries, moving goods between storage and work areas
  • Stock, date, rotate food items and monitor their temperatures

Skills and Requirements

  • At least 6 months' experience in retail or food service roles
  • Preferred: High school diploma
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills
  • English language comprehension to interact with guests and understand instructions
  • Experience resolving guest service challenges
  • Possession of any legally required food handling permits
  • Possession of brand-specific certifications as needed
  • Capability to stand for extended periods and work in restricted spaces
  • Ability to obtain a Transport Canada Security Clearance
  • Physical ability to lift objects up to 50 pounds
  • Comfortable working in diverse temperature conditions, including cold storage environments
