Position Overview
The role of Operations Manager entails overseeing daily activities across all departments of a wellness resort, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning. This includes managing wellness & spa, food & beverage, housekeeping, front office, maintenance, and guest relations with an aim to deliver outstanding guest experiences, maintain operational effectiveness, uphold health and safety standards, and support strategic growth initiatives.
Key Duties
- Oversee and coordinate all front-of-house and back-of-house operations daily.
- Serve as the main contact for operational challenges and stand in for the General Manager when needed.
- Regularly implement and review standard operating procedures across all departments.
- Maintain high-quality service standards aligned with the wellness and hospitality brand.
- Analyze guest feedback from surveys and reviews to implement continual improvements in service.
- Address and resolve escalated guest issues promptly and professionally.
- Manage department heads and team leaders through regular performance assessments and training.
- Promote a culture focused on guest satisfaction and wellness among employees.
- Collaborate with HR for hiring, onboarding, and training new staff members.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and expense monitoring for departments.
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs without compromising service quality.
- Ensure adequate staffing and effective resource management across shifts.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, and maintain health, hygiene, and safety measures.
- Conduct routine safety inspections and coordinate with security and maintenance teams.
- Maintain detailed documentation for compliance and audit purposes.
- Coordinate with external vendors for supplies and services and monitor their performance and contract adherence.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- At least 5 to 7 years of experience in hotel or resort operations, including a minimum of 3 years in a managerial role.
- Preferred background in wellness, spa, or health-centric hospitality environments.
- Comprehensive understanding of resort departments such as food & beverage, housekeeping, front office, wellness/spa, and maintenance.
- Proficiency with property management systems and hotel operations software like Opera or Cloudbeds, along with MS Office skills.
