Job Overview
The Hotel Houseperson is responsible for maintaining linen closets on assigned floors and supplying linens to guest room attendants as needed. This role involves cleaning guest hallways and stairwells, supporting room attendants by stripping rooms, removing soiled linens and trash, and replenishing supplies to ensure a tidy and welcoming guest environment.
Core Responsibilities
- Organize and stock linen closets on assigned floors efficiently.
- Provide linens and supplies to guest room attendants promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness of hallways and stairwells on assigned floors.
- Assist in room preparation by stripping rooms and removing trash and soiled linens.
Qualifications and Physical Requirements
- Ability to push and pull carts up to 150 pounds and lift items weighing up to 75 pounds.
- Capable of standing, stooping, bending, and crouching to clean various hotel areas, including high and low surfaces.
- Comfortable walking up and down stairs regularly.
- Willingness to work in environments with secondhand smoke exposure.
- Proficient in operating cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor machines, carpet extractors, mops, and brooms.
- Tolerant to cleaning chemicals without allergic reactions.
- Skilled in folding linens, including sheets, blankets, bedspreads, and pillowcases.
