AI Platform Engineer

Join SAP Fioneer's dedicated team spearheading the Generative AI project within the Banking sector. As an AI Platform Engineer, your primary focus will be architecting, constructing, and managing the cloud infrastructure and platform capabilities essential for deploying top-tier AI solutions enterprise-wide. This role provides an excellent chance to engage with state-of-the-art cloud-native technologies and ensure the secure, reliable, and scalable rollout of AI applications in production environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, implement, and maintain the infrastructure and platform components necessary for enterprise-caliber AI solutions.
• Create and manage containerized applications and their deployment settings leveraging Docker and Kubernetes technologies.
• Champion production readiness emphasizing security, scalability, reliability, observability, and operational excellence.
• Design multi-tenant platform architectures embedding robust isolation and governance mechanisms.
• Set up comprehensive monitoring, logging, tracing, alerting systems, and operational dashboards for ongoing performance tracking.
• Develop and oversee CI/CD pipelines, release workflows, and Infrastructure-as-Code practices.
• Implement stringent security measures, including secrets management, identity integrations, and secure deployment strategies.
• Collaborate closely with AI engineers and software developers to transition AI modules from experimental prototypes to production-grade systems.
• Contribute to application development focusing on platform features, integration points, operational tools, and infrastructure-related coding.
• Support architectural decisions concerning cloud infrastructure, security protocols, operational strategies, and system maintainability.
• Promote platform standardization, automation, and adopt best operational practices across AI projects.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Proven expertise in platform engineering, DevOps, or cloud infrastructure engineering roles.
• Practical experience managing production-level cloud-native applications.
• Hands-on skills with container orchestration tools like Kubernetes and Docker.
• Familiarity with automated CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure-as-Code approaches, and relevant automation frameworks.
• Knowledge of observability ecosystems such as Langfuse, OpenTelemetry, Grafana, Prometheus, or Azure Monitor.
• Understanding of cloud security fundamentals, identity management systems, and multi-tenant architecture principles.
• Competence in Python programming and adoption of contemporary software engineering methodologies.
• Beneficial but not mandatory: awareness of AI platforms, large language model (LLM) implementations, agent-based frameworks, or Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems.
• Strong analytical mindset with capacity for troubleshooting and maintaining operational integrity.
