Role Overview

This position is centered on building and maintaining unit tests for embedded C software modules using the Ceedling framework. The role involves improving test coverage, studying source code to find untested paths, validating coverage outputs, and collaborating with feature specialists to review results and strengthen software quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Create new unit test cases for embedded C modules with the Ceedling framework.
• Expand and update existing test suites to raise overall code coverage.
• Inspect source code to locate execution paths that are not yet covered.
• Work toward and sustain 90% line coverage for the assigned modules.
• Produce code coverage reports and verify their accuracy.
• Discuss test cases and coverage findings with software feature experts.
• Troubleshoot failures in test runs, including issues with stubs, mocks, and environment setup.
• Make sure all test outputs follow the customer’s required file formats and repository standards.
• Assist with adding unit testing into CI/CD pipelines when needed.
• Keep traceability intact between requirements, source code, and test cases.

Technical Requirements

• Solid programming experience in Embedded C.
• Practical, hands-on exposure to the Ceedling unit testing framework.
• Working knowledge of unit testing methods, white-box testing, and code coverage analysis.
• Understanding of both static and dynamic testing approaches.
• Ability to generate and interpret line, function, and branch coverage results.
• Familiarity with embedded software architecture.
• Experience working in Linux-based development environments.
• Comfort using Git, ClearCase, or similar version control tools.
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging capability.

Domain Knowledge

• Exposure to automotive embedded software development.
• Understanding of diagnostics software concepts.
• Knowledge of transmission and driveline control systems.
• Familiarity with automotive software quality processes.

Eligibility

Applicants should hold a B.Tech or B.E. degree in any specialization.

Compensation

The role offers an annual salary in the range of INR 400000 to INR 900000.
