For this opening, HCLTech is hiring an UI Developer role for one of its leading product-based clients.

Role overview

This position focuses on embedded software unit testing. The work requires strong familiarity with V-cycle development, black-box and white-box testing, automation, debugging, and test methodology. The role also needs solid exposure to embedded C, Python scripting, automotive standards, and relevant testing tools.

Responsibilities

• Carry out unit testing for embedded software with a clear understanding of the V-cycle and unit test approaches.
• Perform embedded software unit testing at both black-box and white-box levels.
• Apply strong Embedded C programming knowledge in day-to-day work.
• Use Python scripting where needed to support testing activities.
• Work with unit testing platforms such as VectorCAST, LDRA, and RTRT.
• Support test automation for unit-level verification.
• Use software debugging and test methods effectively during validation.
• Work with configuration management and change management processes.
• Handle target deployment port testing and simulator-based testing as required.
• Use tools such as Codebeamer, logical analyzers, Infineon microcontroller tools, Lauterbach Simulator, Enterprise Architect, Greenhills/IAR, Eclipse, Tasking Compiler, iSYSTEM WinIdea Debugger, Vector Canalyzer, and MKS Source Integrity.
• Communicate clearly in both oral and written form and collaborate across disciplines.
• Manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment while working well with the team.

Requirements

• Experience in embedded software unit testing and a strong grasp of the V-model/V-cycle.
• Hands-on exposure to black-box and white-box unit testing techniques.
• Strong command of Embedded C programming.
• Working knowledge of Python scripting.
• Practical experience with VectorCAST, LDRA, or RTRT.
• Experience with unit test automation.
• Good understanding of ASPICE, ISO 26262, and MISRA guidelines.
• Understanding of software debugging and testing practices.
• Familiarity with configuration management and change management methods.
• Knowledge of automotive diagnostics standard ISO 14229.
• Awareness of Automotive SPICE and target-based or simulator-based testing methods.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
• Ability to multitask efficiently in a high-paced environment.

Additional information

This role is based in Bengaluru, India. The offered pay range is INR 5,00,000 to 15,00,000 per year.
