Lifeguard

Role Overview

This position is based at Ummahat Islands 2-3, Red Sea, Saudi Arabia, under the prestigious Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company. It falls within the Golf, Fitness, & Entertainment category, requiring a full-time commitment onsite. The role is non-management and focuses on ensuring the safety of swimmers and maintaining a secure aquatic environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Employ appropriate rescue techniques when witnessing swimmers needing help.
• Continuously monitor designated swimming areas to identify any dangerous situations, unusual activities, or swimmers in distress.
• Enforce the facility's rules and regulations at all times.
• Recognize when guests are unable to safely participate in activities and report immediately to supervisors or managers.
• Provide first aid and support to injured guests until emergency medical assistance arrives.
• Create and sustain a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere for all guests.
• Manage poolside upkeep including folding and stacking towels per company standards and cleaning surrounding areas.
• Report any accidents, injuries, or hazardous working conditions to management promptly.
• Participate in safety training sessions and obtain all required certifications.
• Uphold all company safety policies and protocols.
• Maintain professional appearance and ensure uniforms are clean and presentable.
• Protect company property and maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, respecting all team members and supporting common goals.
• Perform physical tasks such as lifting, moving, and carrying objects under 50 pounds independently, and assist with heavier items over 75 pounds.
• Stand, sit, or walk for prolonged periods and respond quickly to work situations including running as necessary.
• Visually inspect equipment and tools to ensure they are defect-free and safe to use.
• Engage guests courteously, recognizing and welcoming them according to company standards and utilizing clear professional communication.
• Carry out additional reasonable duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications and Certifications

• Educational attainment: High school diploma or equivalent General Educational Development (GED) certificate.
• No prior work experience required in similar roles or in supervisory positions.
• Mandatory certifications include Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid.
• Possess physical fitness to meet demands of the role and certifications as required by local authorities.
