Role Overview

The Lead Remote Triage Nurse partners with Care Coordination leadership to ensure seamless patient care and manage symptom triage remotely. This nursing leader provides personalized care aligned with professional nursing standards, complies with state regulations, and upholds FCS's mission, values, and guidelines.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage and assign work within the nursing team to maintain coordination.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on care coordination workflows, addressing updates and knowledge gaps.
• Provide coverage and support for nurse managers as needed.
• Assist senior management in administering and overseeing the nursing staff within Care Coordination.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental training and professional growth initiatives.
• Help oversee department workflows and standard operating procedures, including annual review and updates.
• Engage with patients and their families empathetically and professionally.
• Prioritize and manage incoming symptom management calls through telephonic patient triage.
• Attend mandatory staff meetings regularly.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws regarding patient privacy, rights, personnel, safety, labor, and employment.
• Adhere strictly to company policies, IT protocols, and disaster preparedness plans.
• Act as a preceptor to new nurses at FCS.
• Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications and Experience

• Current Registered Nurse license valid in the state of employment.
• Must obtain Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification within 12 months of hire.
• Minimum of five years' experience as a Registered Nurse.
• At least two years of oncology nursing experience.
• Previous experience with telephonic triage is essential.
