About the Role

We are seeking a journalist based in Madrid to join Citywire Spain's editorial team. This position is ideal for a reporter eager to move beyond conventional press releases by delivering exclusive news, conducting interviews with key figures in asset and wealth management, and producing original investigative content for our daily news platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute regularly to our online news service by sourcing impactful stories and interviewing influential individuals within financial advice and investment sectors.
• Break unique and exclusive news pivotal to advisers and the broader investment community.
• Cover topics such as asset management operations, regulatory developments, banking, private wealth, and independent financial advice.
• Balance daily reporting duties with more extensive research projects aligned with editorial deadlines.
• Build and sustain a robust network of contacts throughout the financial services industry.
• Manage the distribution of articles via social media channels to actively engage financial professional audiences.

Candidate Profile

• Language Proficiency: Native-level Spanish speaker with professional fluency in English.
• Experience: Demonstrable experience in crafting news stories and feature articles.
• Sector Interest: Enthusiasm for gaining and deepening expertise in finance, particularly wealth management, banking, and investment sectors.
• Communication Skills: Ability to foster connections with sources, ask insightful questions, and clearly convey complex financial topics.
• Data Literacy: Comfortable utilizing big data, AI solutions, and specialized analytics tools to interpret market trends and enhance storytelling.
• Initiative: Self-motivated with a proactive approach to sourcing leads and uncovering original stories while meeting deadlines.
