Role Overview

We are collaborating with a reputable international trading firm seeking an experienced Coal Trader to support trading activities across regional and global markets. The primary focus of this position is on sourcing, trading, conducting market evaluations, and managing relationships with suppliers and customers in the bulk commodities industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Track and analyze market trends, supply-demand patterns, and pricing fluctuations within the thermal coal and bulk commodity markets to inform trading strategies and business decisions.
  • Source and acquire thermal coal from global suppliers, building and sustaining dependable and long-lasting procurement partnerships.
  • Assess supply sources concerning production conditions and supply chain factors to refine procurement approaches.
  • Handle the execution of purchase and sales agreements, ensuring transactions proceed smoothly and comply with contractual obligations.
  • Formulate and implement sales and trading plans at the regional level aligned with prevailing market trends and corporate objectives.
  • Establish and nurture robust connections with suppliers, customers, and other trading associates internationally.
  • Identify various risks including market, credit, and transactional, and develop methods to mitigate these risks effectively.

Candidate Requirements

  • Possession of a Bachelor's degree in International Trade, Business, Marketing, Economics, or a related field.
  • At least five years of professional experience in trading coal, energy, or bulk commodities with exposure to international markets.
  • Proven skills in market analysis, negotiation, and contract administration.
