The Microsoft Azure Storage team is developing this vision through a massively scalable, highly distributed cloud storage system designed to meet global demand with exabytes of data and plans for zettabyte scale growth.
As a Software Quality Engineer II on this team, you will design, enhance, and maintain scalable and high-performance cloud storage services that ensure exceptional reliability, security, and availability for customers. This role involves analyzing and monitoring growing data requirements while safeguarding data privacy, protection, and compliance. Responsibilities
- Define testing scope by forming comprehensive quality plans covering multiple product features.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, contributing to and reviewing test plans with requirement writers and design architects to establish robust testing strategies.
- Utilize data analytics to pinpoint areas requiring additional exploratory testing or development, including creation of advanced custom visualizations to verify testing coverage.
- Implement and enhance automated testing frameworks using scripting languages such as C# and Python to support automated regression testing.
- Maintain and promote the use of automation tools, encouraging their adoption to reduce manual testing efforts and repetitive work across features.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline with a minimum of 2 years professional software experience; or Bachelor’s degree with at least 4 years experience; or equivalent professional experience.
- Proven experience in systems testing, ideally involving networking, storage, or virtualization products, with proficiency in coding languages like C, C++, C#, or Python.
- Ability to satisfy Microsoft and regulatory security screening requirements, including successfully passing Microsoft Cloud Background Checks at hire and biannually thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree with a minimum of 3 years software industry experience; or Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years experience; or equivalent expertise.
- Demonstrated competence in system testing for networking, storage, or virtualization products, and coding skill in C, C++, C#, or Python.
