Role Overview and Responsibilities

We are seeking a Machine Learning Engineer tasked with creating and enhancing acoustic sensing and sensor fusion algorithms that enable OmniDome's detection and classification features, spanning from foundational research phases through deployment on edge devices.

• Design and refine models focused on acoustic detection, multi-sensor fusion, and swarm intelligence.
• Engage with computer vision systems, experimenting with different model structures to elevate performance.
• Deploy optimized models on edge hardware by applying compression strategies such as quantization and model distillation.
• Continuously improve model architectures informed by real-world operational data and performance analyses.
• Collaborate closely with hardware and firmware teams to ensure seamless and efficient model integration on sensor platforms.

Candidate Requirements

• Solid expertise in machine learning, particularly in areas including acoustics, sensor fusion, or computer vision.
• Hands-on experience with model optimization and deploying ML solutions on embedded or edge computing devices.
• Knowledge of and experience applying model distillation and compression techniques.
• Ability to perform rapid prototyping and experimentation across varied model frameworks.
• For internship applicants: a strong academic foundation in ML/AI with relevant practical projects.
• Authorization to work within the European Union.
