Overview
We are seeking a School Applications Officer to join Lancashire County Council, working full time onsite in Lancashire, England. This permanent role offers a salary between 40,777 and 46,142 per annum for a 37-hour workweek.
Role Responsibilities
The successful candidate will support school staff by leveraging expert knowledge in SIMS systems, with a specific focus on becoming a lead specialist in at least one module and progressively expanding expertise across multiple areas. Key duties include managing support enquiries through a Service Centre environment, updating the Service Now incident management system, creating and maintaining support documentation for the Digital Hub, organizing and delivering training sessions, and advising on new service developments. Providing consultancy and conducting presentations within schools forms a significant component of this position.
Candidate Requirements
Applicants should have hands-on experience supporting school staff in SIMS or be advanced end-users with demonstrable specialist skills and capability to transition into training, consultancy, and support roles. Preference is given to those with expert knowledge of FMS, Assessment Manager, or Nova T6 modules. Proficiency in advanced data manipulation using Power BI and Excel, alongside Microsoft 365 competencies, is also desirable. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential to build effective relationships with school personnel through both face-to-face and digital communication channels.
Additional Information
This position requires a DBS disclosure under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended 2013). The council reserves the right to close the vacancy prior to the closing date if enough applications are received.
