Role Overview
This position functions as a Pre-Kindergarten Program Associate within the Child and Youth Services Strong Beginnings Pre-K Program. The associate promotes key kindergarten readiness habits and skills such as turn-taking, hand-raising, and orderly movement. Ensuring the safety and supervision of the children in compliance with Department of Defense, Army, and local regulations is a critical responsibility.
Core Responsibilities
- Encourage development of essential kindergarten etiquette skills to prepare children for school success.
- Offer vigilant supervision and management of children adhering to all relevant policies and standards.
- Collaborate with the School Liaison Officer and school officials to support children's transition into kindergarten.
- Fulfill required training courses, maintaining records on a personal Individual Development Plan.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old and meet eligibility, qualification, and background criteria.
- Completion of a Child Care Tier 1 background check and health assessment as per Army regulation AR 215-3 is mandatory.
- A probationary period of one year may be enforced.
- Proven work experience of either 12-18 months in group programs involving children or youth is required.
- Possession and maintenance of a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or Military School-Age Credential are essential at target level.
- Alternatively, candidates may qualify with an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree focused on early childhood education, child development, elementary education, special education, home economics, or related behavioral sciences.
- Previous experience in roles such as Lead Child and Youth Program Assistant or related technician positions is highly favored.
Additional Employment Conditions
- Direct deposit enrollment and Social Security Card are prerequisites.
- This role is open Europe-wide including candidates eligible for Military Spouse Preference, Involuntarily Separated Military Preference, and Family Member Preference.
- Permanent Change of Station expenses will not be covered.
- Sunday premium pay and night differentials may be available at the discretion of the Garrison Commander.
- Foreign overseas allowances and employment benefits apply subject to eligibility.
- Applicants must comply with the Exceptional Family Member Program.
- The position involves a minimum 40-hour work week and qualifies for benefits.
