About the Role

The Operator will be responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of packaging equipment and associated processes to maximize operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enhance the performance of plant and processes wherever possible.
  • Operate packaging machines and manage packaging-related procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness by performing housekeeping in line with 5S methodology and adhere to safe working standards.
  • Identify and address unsafe work practices promptly.
  • Assist in developing and documenting standard work procedures, including quick-fix routines and problem-solving guides.
  • Conduct necessary quality control checks and analyses, accurately logging results in the relevant information system.
  • Apply problem-solving methods like 5 WHY analysis and quick remedial routines for quality issues.
  • Escalate any unresolved or serious problems to the Line Manager.
  • Engage actively in meetings and performance improvement reviews.
  • Understand and support team goals by participating in goal review sessions.
  • Utilize communication tools such as shift logbooks to stay informed and keep colleagues updated on operational issues.
  • Ensure smooth shift handovers, conveying information about plant performance and quality issues.
  • Complete autonomous operational duties and undertake problem-solving activities independently.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • At least 9 months of on-the-job training experience.
  • Experience in the FMCG sector is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of VPO (Value Process Optimization) principles is preferred.
