Use varied teaching materials adapted for diverse learners including English Language Learners and students with special needs, regularly monitoring progress and modifying strategies accordingly.
- Administer and interpret a range of secondary math assessments and benchmark data to facilitate accurate placement into Tier 2 or Tier 3 interventions. Maintain detailed records for communication with school staff and families.
- Collaborate closely with middle and high school math departments to co-develop differentiated lessons aligned with curriculum standards, lead training sessions, and demonstrate instructional techniques such as explicit teaching and visual modeling for fellow educators.
- Engage parents and guardians by sharing practical strategies and resources to reinforce math success at home, conducting periodic meetings to review assessments, graduation plans, and intervention progress.
Qualifications
- Possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mathematics, Secondary Education, or a related discipline.
- Hold a valid state teaching license endorsed for Secondary Mathematics (Grades 7-12) or certified as a Math Specialist/Interventionist.

- Experienced with student information and assessment systems such as NWEA MAP, Renaissance Star Math, PowerSchool, and Illuminate Education for monitoring benchmarks and progress within MTSS frameworks.
- Adept at learning management systems like Google Classroom, Canvas, or Schoology to manage instructional delivery efficiently.
- Proficient with productivity software like Google Workspace and Microsoft Office used for reporting, data analysis, and professional presentations.
Skills and Competencies
- Comprehensive knowledge of the progression in secondary math concepts including arithmetic through algebra, geometry, and statistics.
- Familiarity with evidence-based teaching methods adapted for adolescent learners, including the Concrete-Representational-Abstract model and scaffolded problem-solving approaches.
- Capable of analyzing complex student data to inform teaching strategies and intervention decisions.
- Strong interpersonal and mentoring skills to foster student engagement and collaborate effectively with faculty and families.
- Excellent organization, mathematical modeling proficiency, and time management capabilities.
