Overview
The role involves executing Quality Assurance and Quality Control functions on-site to provide dependable analytical support to the plant. This enables the detection of any departures from established quality benchmarks, laboratory testing protocols, and safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze process, product, and various samples following standard and supervisor-directed test methods ensuring calibration, standardization and quality control data are valid prior to testing.
- Perform calibrations, verifications, and quality control checks as supervised, update results in Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), and ensure proper release and approval of results.
- Adhere strictly to safe working practices and all safety instructions without exception.
- Comply with standard test methods, quality system procedures, and health, safety, environment, and fire (HSEF) guidelines, maintaining awareness of relevant environmental statutory requirements.
- Stay updated on best practices and contribute towards continuous improvements in systems and procedures; participate in training to increase competencies and knowledge.
- Inspect incoming routine samples and allocate them to respective laboratory sections; escalate issues related to abnormal samples or delays to shift-in-charge.
- Validate test outcomes before reporting to ensure reliability and promptly communicate any deviations to stakeholders.
- Execute immediate corrective actions during emergencies under shift-in-charge guidance.
- Manage samples effectively, including proper disposal of remnants, maintain cleanliness, and ensure equipment readiness for future tests.
- Maintain accurate records of results both in raw data logs and electronic systems including LIMS and process registers.
Educational Qualifications
- Essential: Bachelor's degree in Science specializing in Chemistry preferred; Master’s degree in Science specializing in Chemistry also preferred.
Experience
- Required: 0 to 3 years of experience in QA/QC fields.
- Additional desired knowledge includes understanding test procedures, sample handling, process stream samples, product classification and certification, method development and validation, complaint management, feedback analysis, and familiarity with LIMS & SAP-QM systems.
Skills and Competencies
- Adherence to ISO 17025 quality management standards.
- Achievement in quality audits and timely completion and reporting of scheduled and product analyses.
- Strong compliance with safety guidelines.
- Awareness of LIMS and SAP-QM systems.
- Knowledge of various standards including ISO 9001, ISO 18001, ISO 45001, AS 9100D.
