About the Opportunity
Join the Quality Assurance team at GuruSchools LLC as a Junior QA Automation Tester. This remote, full-time contract position is ideal for recent graduates and professionals with up to 2 years of experience who are enthusiastic about starting or advancing their career in QA automation. Key Responsibilities
- Create, execute, and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium WebDriver.
- Perform a variety of testing techniques, including functional, regression, integration, smoke, and sanity tests.
- Develop and carry out test cases derived from specified business and functional requirements.
- Detect, record, monitor, and verify bugs through defect management platforms.
- Conduct API tests utilizing tools such as Postman or REST Assured.
- Collaborate closely with developers and other QA professionals to uphold software quality and consistency.
- Contribute to CI/CD workflows by incorporating automated testing suites.
- Manage and update test plans, generate comprehensive test documentation, and prepare detailed reports.
- Participate actively in Agile and Scrum meetings, contributing to sprints and related activities.
- Remain current with advancements in QA automation tools, practices, and methodologies.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 0–2 years of direct or relevant exposure to QA Automation Testing.
- Basic proficiency with Selenium WebDriver and either Java or Python.
- Familiarity with the principles of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
- Exposure to unit testing frameworks such as TestNG or JUnit.
- Knowledge of API testing methods and tools, including Postman and REST Assured.
- Fundamental skills in SQL and experience testing databases.
- Additional familiarity with Git for version control and CI/CD solutions like Jenkins is considered advantageous.
- Well-developed analytical thinking, problem resolution capabilities, and communication skills.
- Competence in working autonomously as well as part of a geographically distributed team.
