About The Role
Join the Project Controls team at Babcock New Zealand in Devonport, Auckland, as an Estimator playing a pivotal role in ensuring project success through precise cost and schedule estimation across complex programs. Collaborate closely with project, engineering, and commercial teams to develop reliable estimates, conduct risk and opportunity analyses, and contribute to competitive tender submissions supporting vital customer outcomes.
About You
You are an analytical estimator with keen attention to detail who enjoys tackling intricate project challenges. You bring experience in preparing cost estimates throughout various project lifecycle stages, confidently applying diverse estimating techniques such as bottom-up, top-down, comparative, and parametric methods. Well-versed in risk, uncertainty, and forecasting concepts, you communicate your insights effectively to stakeholders. Thriving in a structured, compliance-driven environment, you excel in team collaboration, embrace continuous improvement, and focus on delivering accurate, high-quality results for clients and programs.
Key Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum relevant qualification in project management, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Demonstrated experience applying estimating methodologies on complex projects
- Strong knowledge of project controls, forecasting, and risk analysis
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain New Zealand Defence Security Clearance
Core Competencies
- Cost estimating and forecasting expertise
- Proficient in bottom-up and top-down estimating approaches
- Knowledge of parametric and comparative estimating techniques
- Experience or knowledge of marine or trades (construction, mechanical, electrical) preferred
- Risk and uncertainty assessment capabilities
