Job description
Overview
A leading pharmaceutical firm in Cork is seeking an Engineering Document Control Administrator to join their onsite team. This role supports engineering and construction teams by efficiently managing and distributing project documentation through to turnover. The incumbent will ensure that all drawings, specifications, correspondence, and turnover records are properly controlled, current, and accessible to relevant stakeholders during project execution.
Key Duties
- Maintain document control systems, registers, tracking tools, and filing structures for engineering and construction documentation.
- Ensure that all documents are accurately named, numbered, coded, approved, version-controlled, and distributed according to project and corporate guidelines.
- Monitor review cycles, approvals, pending actions, and close-out statuses, escalating any concerns to support smooth project turnover.
- Facilitate project close-out by organizing handover documentation, quality packs, as-built records, and turnover files.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Background in document control, project administration, or engineering administration within construction, engineering, or capital projects.
- Familiarity with technical drawings, specifications, document registers, and project correspondence.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage a large volume of documents accurately and consistently.
- Experience using electronic document management platforms such as SharePoint, Procore, ASite, BIM 360, or equivalent is advantageous.
- Knowledge of construction workflows including approval cycles, audit trails, and project handover processes.
