DevOps Engineer

Project Overview

The role involves modernization efforts for core business systems at a major US financial institution. Work includes maintaining Kubernetes-based applications, breaking down a monolith application into smaller services, and migrating to a contemporary technology stack.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage OpenShift platforms for containerized applications.
• Design and execute CI/CD pipelines to support ongoing development and release processes.
• Automate routine tasks throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Provide infrastructure support to development, quality assurance, and external teams.
• Oversee Azure cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
• Conduct troubleshooting for applications and underlying infrastructure components.

Required Skills and Experience

• Proven production experience with Kubernetes platform management.
• Azure certification is mandatory.
• Minimum of 5 years hands-on experience managing Azure services, including AKS, APIM, App Services, Azure Cache for Redis, Storage Accounts, and Virtual Networks.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID administration.
• Comprehensive understanding of Kubernetes and OpenShift ecosystems.
• Strong familiarity with cloud compute resources such as Virtual Machines and Virtual Machine Scale Sets.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools, including Azure Monitor, Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus, and Loki.
• Hands-on experience working with Docker containers — preparation, building, and running workflows.
• Strong scripting skills using Bash and Python to automate operational tasks.
• Ability to operate independently with excellent problem-solving skills.
• Proficient English communication skills at upper-intermediate level, both written and spoken.
