Platform Engineer 3 (Python/Golang Development)

About the Role

The position of Platform Engineer II (Cloud Ecosystems) is based in Bangalore, Karnataka, offered on a one-year contract with extension possibilities. The role involves designing, building, and maintaining internal cloud platforms to enable developers with self-service tools and automated deployment solutions, ensuring scalable, reliable, and efficient software operation across large infrastructures.

The role is with VARITE India Private Limited, an IT staffing and consultancy firm serving prominent clients including a leading Big Four accounting firm known for rapid growth. The client operates a global cloud ecosystem providing private and public cloud infrastructure management, including Kubernetes-based container orchestration and virtual machine services across private data centers and AWS.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement large-scale, distributed platforms impacting developer workflows.
• Create seamless, end-to-end engineering experiences simplifying complex operations for developers.
• Incorporate operational resilience and service reliability throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Develop monitoring tools to oversee system health and effectively manage incidents.
• Conduct capacity testing to plan for system growth.
• Integrate business continuity and disaster recovery strategies into engineering processes.
• Automate security and privacy protections within deployment pipelines to minimize manual interventions.
• Promote engineering standards and best practices.
• Participate in on-call rotations and handle incident escalations.
• Contribute to recruitment activities including interviewing and onboarding.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• 6+ years' professional experience in software, platform, or site reliability engineering roles building and sustaining scalable systems.
• Strong programming skills primarily in Python or Golang; familiarity with additional languages like Java, Ruby, or Perl is beneficial.
• Experience using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.
• Solid understanding of Linux systems administration and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of cloud computing concepts and practical exposure to AWS environments.
• Understanding of Kubernetes container orchestration and related networking, security, and storage technologies.
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability frameworks like Prometheus, Grafana, Elasticsearch, Kibana, and Graphite.
• Excellent interpersonal and English communication skills, both written and verbal.

Compensation and Experience Levels

• Candidates with 6+ years of experience may expect a salary budget of up to INR 22,00,000 per annum.
• For experience exceeding 10 years, the salary budget may reach up to INR 32,00,000 per annum.

Additional Information
