About the Role

Join Air New Zealand's Workforce Management team as a Crew Planner focused on Rostering at our Auckland Airport Campus. This position is a 12-month parental leave cover, pivotal in creating crew schedules that ensure safe, reliable, and efficient flights. Each day brings new challenges balancing operational needs, compliance with regulations, contractual duties, and business goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and manage crew rosters that fulfil operational demands while adhering to contractual and regulatory standards.
  • Analyze crew plans continuously to boost performance and mitigate operational risks.
  • Engage actively in Workforce Management initiatives and projects.
  • Deliver timely and precise crewing information to various business stakeholders.
  • Spot opportunities for process improvements to raise efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Cultivate productive relationships within internal teams and across departments.
  • Champion safe and secure workplace practices.

Candidate Profile

  • Exemplary analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • High attention to detail with exceptional organizational skills.
  • Capability to juggle competing priorities and perform under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Adept at building and sustaining solid stakeholder relationships.
  • Competent user of Microsoft Excel.
  • Quick learner, flexible in adapting to new tools and technologies.
  • Methodical in following processes while applying practical judgment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in workforce planning, rostering, scheduling, or related operational roles.
  • Familiarity with rostering or scheduling software systems.
  • Understanding of workforce management principles and best practices.
