Mechanical Assembler

About the Role

United Metal Inc is expanding its engineering division and is inviting applications for the position of Mechanical Assembler. The role primarily focuses on new product innovation, tooling design, enhancing manufacturing capabilities, supporting production operations technically, and ensuring workplace safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Uphold core company principles such as customer centricity, integrity, excellence, diligence, teamwork, respect, safety, and ongoing improvement.
• Fabricate prototypes for beta testing, customer presentations, and to validate manufacturability of designs.
• Conduct engineering computations relevant to design projects.
• Design and produce tooling and fixtures for manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate effectively with various engineering disciplines to develop creative technical solutions.
• Offer technical assistance to production teams when required.
• Initiate and advance new manufacturing methods and capabilities.

Preferred Experience and Education

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Two to five years of professional experience in manufacturing or related fields.
• Thorough understanding of fundamental engineering principles.
• Proficiency in designing and implementing fixtures and tooling.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting mechanical systems and products.
• Familiarity with engineering software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Prior exposure to the HVAC sector is advantageous.
