Overview of the Role
This position involves strategic ownership of analytics across a specific business function, impacting major decisions and outcomes. The Lead, Business Analysis will create and implement analytics and data strategies, support business goals through measurement and experimentation, and generate insights that guide growth and product decisions. You will manage and grow a team of analytics professionals, collaborating closely with product, engineering, operations, and marketing teams to optimize performance metrics along the entire customer journey—from acquisition and activation through to retention and expansion.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide vision and direction for developing a robust analytical team, establishing a clear analytics roadmap aligned with business goals.
- Lead hiring, training, and ongoing development of top-performing analytics team members.
- Deliver actionable insights leveraging comprehensive analytics to support diverse departments, such as product, operations, marketing, and engineering.
- Ensure accurate data collection and develop strategic approaches to leveraging data for business impact.
- Own and oversee forecasting, budgeting, and growth plans for products, driving execution across user acquisition, conversion, retention, and monetisation.
- Evaluate and optimise business, commercial, and growth metrics through data-driven testing and funnel refinement.
- Design and implement A/B tests and manage experimental programs to boost key metrics such as conversion, engagement, and customer lifetime value.
- Leverage user analytics, campaign performance reviews, cohort analyses, and journey mapping to identify areas for improvement.
Qualifications and Experience
- At least five years of experience in analytics or analytical management roles.
- A minimum of two years leading teams or significant strategic initiatives.
- A history of achievements in consumer-focused industries, ideally within CPG or fintech sectors.
- Demonstrated experience scaling digital products and managing large revenue targets.
- Advanced knowledge of SQL and major analytics platforms like Mixpanel, Grafana, Tableau, or Looker.
- Expertise in data analysis, user segmentation, measuring marketing effectiveness, and funnel optimisation through experiments and metrics.
Personal Qualities
- Effective communicator capable of delivering insights through various mediums to stakeholders and team members.
- Experience mentoring and overseeing multidisciplinary teams across analytics and digital marketing domains.
- Strong business sense, commercial acumen, and an ability to think strategically.
Desired Attributes
- An advanced degree in Business or a STEM field is considered an advantage.
- Familiarity with growth analytics, product analytics, and credit risk analytics.
- Background in both large-scale marketing and product-led growth models.
- Previous responsibility for P&L or budget management.
