About the Role

Royal York Property Management, a prominent Canadian property management company serving numerous residential rental properties across Ontario, is seeking reliable and skilled Handyworkers. The position entails traveling to various residential locations to conduct diverse maintenance, repairs, inspections, and installation tasks independently, utilizing a mobile application for managing daily appointments and recording completed work.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and repairs in residential settings.
• Conduct property inspections and execute preventative maintenance measures.
• Install and remove lockboxes on properties.
• Change HVAC filters and handle routine upkeep activities.
• Fix doors, locks, faucets, toilets, lighting fixtures, blinds, shelving, hardware, and smoke detectors.
• Assemble and install household items as needed.
• Take clear photographs and complete digital inspection reports accurately.
• Report maintenance issues and advise on additional repair needs.
• Utilize a mobile work app to manage work orders, use GPS navigation, upload photos, and update job progress.
• Travel between job sites using a personal vehicle.

Mandatory Qualifications

• A minimum of two years of paid experience in handyman work, property maintenance, construction, renovation, or related fields.
• Capability to independently handle common residential maintenance tasks.
• Possession of a reliable personal vehicle.
• Own necessary tools and equipment for general maintenance duties.
• Have a smartphone compatible with GPS, work applications, photography, and job status submissions.
• Basic proficiency in English communication.
• Dependable, punctual, and comfortable following GPS-based appointment scheduling.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and keen attention to detail.

Preferred Experience

• Background in residential property maintenance.
• Experience conducting inspections and documenting repairs.
• Comprehensive knowledge of typical household maintenance and repair procedures.
• Skill in identifying maintenance problems before they escalate.
