About the Role
As a Captain at the Tea Lounge within a prestigious hotel, you will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional dining experiences. Your leadership will ensure that every aspect of service exceeds guest expectations, creating a memorable and welcoming atmosphere. Providing guidance to your team, you will maintain seamless service flow and promote the hotel's facilities enthusiastically.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding customer service focused on guest satisfaction.
- Take initiative to solve issues promptly and communicate clearly with guests and team members.
- Suggest improvements for operational and environmental procedures within the hotel.
- Promote hotel services and venues to guests and suppliers effectively.
- Maintain workplace safety for yourself and others.
- Possess thorough knowledge of the food and beverage menu and articulate details confidently to guests.
- Understand dietary needs and recommend suitable menu choices.
- Complete product knowledge assessments regularly.
- Be familiar with menus of all hotel outlets to guide guests appropriately.
- Know the operating hours of all hotel dining venues and recommend other restaurants and local attractions as appropriate.
- Prepare the restaurant for service following checklists carefully.
- Greet guests warmly, assist with coats and bags, and introduce yourself professionally.
- Address guest inquiries promptly and escalate to management when necessary.
- Ensure all service protocols meet established standards.
- Keep dining areas clean and maintained according to operating procedures.
- Take personal responsibility for guest experiences in your assigned area and beyond by greeting guests wherever they are.
- Prioritize guest service at all times with professionalism and courteous language.
- Report workplace incidents to supervisory staff promptly.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support operations.
Qualifications and Skills
- Preferably hold relevant hospitality qualifications or possess equivalent experience.
- Communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrate a proactive attitude with eagerness to learn and grow.
- Adapt to dynamic work environments and varying operational demands.
- Collaborate well with team members to meet shared objectives.
- Have a foundational understanding of food and beverage preparation, beverage service, and responsible alcohol handling.
- Retain and confidently recommend menu selections to guests.
- Exhibit strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Flexibly work rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays as needed.
