About the Role
This fixed-term contract position (12 to 15 months maternity cover) is based in Plymouth, England, with an annual compensation of £28,000. The employer is a part of the Celnor Group, a UK environmental services company involved in Testing, Inspection, Certification, and Compliance. The role supports the SSG Training & Consultancy's business support team which focuses on improving health, safety, environmental, HR, and compliance performance through accredited training and consultancy services delivered by various formats.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee complete credit control processes including payment collection, customer account upkeep, daily bank reconciliations, invoicing, issuing monthly statements, and managing cancellations and transfers to resolve client inquiries effectively.
- Assist the finance team with accounts payable tasks such as reconciling supplier invoices, handling staff expenses and company credit cards, ensuring financial transactions are accurate and compliant.
- Manage training administration by handling course bookings, modifications, cancellations, and transfers, maintaining accurate records before course delivery.
- Coordinate with internal teams to provide trainers with necessary materials and resources, conduct final checks on courses to uphold excellent customer service standards.
- Administer awarding body obligations by submitting course notifications promptly, managing online training links, scheduling tutor calendars, and updating tracking spreadsheets.
- Provide broad administrative assistance including responding to customer questions, supporting online exam supervision, and facilitating day-to-day operations of the Plymouth Training Centre such as training room preparation and refreshments.
- Maintain precise documentation and proficiently utilize business software, supporting additional administrative duties as needed.
Candidate Profile
- At least two years of experience in a dynamic finance, credit control, or office-based role.
- Proficiency in Xero accounting software and Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, and Teams.
- Exceptional organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail and a dedication to accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively under pressure and meet stringent deadlines.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, comfortable engaging with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
- Experience working with multiple software platforms including CRM and training management systems.
- A proactive, positive attitude, good problem-solving capabilities, and a friendly sense of humor.
