About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned Senior Accountant with expertise in General Ledger management to become a vital part of our Group Finance team. This position is ideally suited to professionals experienced in trading and contracting sectors and encompasses maintaining General Ledger accuracy, overseeing month-end and year-end closures, financial reporting, and managing intercompany accounting for multiple group entities.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all General Ledger activities and ensure timely, precise journal entries.
- Execute month-end and year-end closing procedures adhering to IFRS standards.
- Conduct bank reconciliations, balance sheet analysis, and intercompany reconciliations thoroughly.
- Manage recording, reconciliation, and monitoring of intercompany transactions among group companies.
- Maintain accurate accounting for accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, inventory, and allocation of project costs.
- Prepare detailed financial statements, management reports, and audit preparation schedules.
- Assist in both internal and external audit processes, ensuring compliance with company policies and international financial reporting standards.
- Collaborate closely with various business units to guarantee precise financial reporting.
- Leverage ERP software to uphold financial record accuracy and streamline accounting workflows.
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- At least five years of professional experience in General Ledger accounting.
- Demonstrated experience working within trading and contracting companies is essential.
- Experience managing intercompany accounting and reconciliation across multiple group entities.
- Strong understanding of IFRS principles, financial reporting obligations, and month-end closing processes.
- Proficiency with ERP systems including SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or comparable platforms.
- Advanced capability in Microsoft Excel.
- Professional accounting certifications such as ACCA, CPA, CMA, or CA are preferred.
