About the Role
The role of Inside Sales Representative involves engaging with current customers to boost sales of the company's products and services. The individual will be responsible for obtaining, processing, and upselling orders, ensuring customer satisfaction and enhancing the buying experience. The focus is on proactive sales approaches to grow business and expand the existing customer base. Coordination with outside sales teams is essential to meet sales objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Process orders received via email and phone calls, verify items, and forward orders to fulfillment; communicate stock shortages and expected delivery times.
- Increase order volume by recommending related products, explaining their features, and reviewing customer purchase history.
- Manage and develop sales opportunities generated from marketing, outside sales, and national accounts.
- Identify and implement ways to improve sales processes continuously.
- Prepare and follow up on verbal or written quotations to secure orders or understand reasons behind order losses.
- Monitor open customer orders, including those at risk of delayed delivery, and take necessary actions.
- Maintain reports on distribution system backorders, customer expediting, and notifications.
- Provide management with insights on industry trends, competitor pricing, and customer feedback.
Qualifications and Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; a bachelor's degree is preferred.
- 2 to 4 years of sales and sales administration experience, showing competent and productive contribution.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and basic computer skills.
- Ability to multitask efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Capability to prospect and promote concepts to current and potential accounts.
- Problem-solving skills for moderately challenging issues using existing solutions independently.
- Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to travel occasionally, ranging from 0% to 25% of the time.
