Hygiene Operative - Night Shift

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Hygiene Operative to join our team at Humdinger's factory in Bromborough, Wirral. This full-time, permanent position involves working night shifts to uphold cleanliness, safety, and compliance standards across the site, ensuring the facility is always audit-ready and maintained to high hygiene levels.

Work Schedule and Compensation

• Hours: 39 per week
• Shift: Monday to Friday, 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM
• Pay: £13.26 per hour
• Breaks: Two paid 30-minute breaks per shift

Key Duties

• Perform scheduled cleaning tasks throughout the factory and site facilities.
• Clean production machinery and processing lines adhering to required hygiene standards.
• Maintain cleanliness of staff areas such as desks, reception, windows and glass doors, toilets, lockers, personal protective equipment (PPE) lockers, canteen and changing rooms.
• Replenish supplies including paper towels and soap in designated areas.
• Accurately complete hygiene records and cleaning documentation as required.
• Utilize PPE, cleaning tools, and chemicals safely and appropriately.
• Support compliance with food safety, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and health & safety regulations across the premises.

Candidate Requirements

• Prior experience in cleaning or hygiene roles, preferably in food manufacturing environments.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow established procedures precisely.
• Capability to safely handle cleaning chemicals.
• Effective communication and ability to work well within a team.
• Self-motivated with skills to work independently and prioritize cleaning tasks efficiently.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

• Familiarity with GMP standards.
• Level 2 Food Safety certification is an advantage.
