About Blossom
Blossom is a U.S.-based company with over two decades of experience committed to improving the satisfaction of credit unions and their members. We focus on developing next-generation technology solutions tailored for credit unions, integrating both software and hardware product lines.
Role Overview
We are seeking a meticulous and inquisitive Financial Planning & Analysis Manager to join our fintech venture. This position involves ownership of budgeting, forecasting, and pricing activities in a SaaS or technology environment. As the first dedicated FP&A hire outside core accounting, you will manage critical financial models and forecasting processes, driving rigor and structure in a dynamic and evolving setting. Reporting directly to leadership, this role demands independent operation, close collaboration with Sales, Product, and Accounting teams, and the ability to present complex analyses in a concise manner for executive decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, own, and refine the company’s comprehensive financial model encompassing multiple revenue streams.
- Construct and update the annual operating plan (AOP) and rolling forecasts for both P&L and cash flow, including conducting scenario and sensitivity analyses.
- Manage the direct cash flow forecasts on an ongoing basis.
- Lead monthly variance analysis comparing actual results to budgets and forecasts, identifying key drivers and suggesting corrective actions.
- Enhance data quality, forecasting methods, and the FP&A infrastructure as the department is established.
- Collaborate with department heads on operational expense and headcount planning and manage budget-to-actual performance reviews.
- Produce regular reports for management, board members, and investors, covering SaaS metrics such as ARR/MRR, ACV, gross margin by product, and NRR.
- Work closely with Product, Sales, and Finance teams to assess new product introductions, packaging, and enterprise deal structures.
- Lead the product pricing process, organize pricing committee sessions, develop pricing recommendations, and communicate approvals (final decisions made by CFO and leadership).
- Create and maintain pricing models for diverse product lines including SaaS subscriptions, perpetual licenses, hardware, and bundled professional services.
- Analyze pricing flexibility, discount trends, win/loss data, and benchmark against competitors.
- Provide pricing guidance and deal support for significant or complex credit union accounts.
- Ensure pricing approaches comply with ASC 606 standards in collaboration with accounting.
- Standardize pricing approval processes and documentation.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Advanced financial modeling expertise, including mastery of Excel or Google Sheets and management of complex operating models.
- Proven experience in building and maintaining P&L and cash flow forecasts within SaaS or technology firms.
- Comfort thriving in an ambiguous, quickly evolving environment with imperfect data and limited supervision.
- Exceptional analytical skills paired with clear communication capabilities, able to convert detailed analysis into compelling executive summaries.
- Strong team player with collaboration experience across Product, Sales, and Finance departments.
- Demonstrated commercial insight and enthusiasm for pricing strategies and monetization.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Four to seven years of professional experience in FP&A, pricing, or strategic finance, preferably within SaaS or technology sectors.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with pricing models encompassing both software and hardware product categories.
- Familiarity with ASC 606 compliance related to bundled software/hardware offerings.
- Background in deal desk or commercial finance handling complex, multi-part transactions.
- Knowledge of fintech, financial services software, or credit union/banking technology domains.
- Proficiency with FP&A software platforms (e.g., Mosaic, Planful, Anaplan) and BI tools such as Tableau, Looker, or Power BI.
- Possession of an MBA or CFA credential.
Benefits
- Work entirely remotely with flexible arrangements.
- Receive mentorship from seasoned professionals in product management and banking.
- Engage in multicultural collaboration with teams located in Colombia and the United States.
- Gain authentic exposure to the U.S. financial market.
- Opportunity for growth into senior product management or leadership positions as the company and product expand.
