Executive Director

Overview

The Executive Director leads and oversees mega-scale construction projects with values in the multi-billion-dollar range. This role entails strategic leadership, project execution excellence, and ensuring the achievement of safety, quality, business, and commercial objectives across all project phases.

Primary Duties

• Provide high-level leadership and direction for major construction programs and business activities aligned with organizational goals.
• Plan and implement effective project execution strategies that promote business growth and elevate operational standards.
• Monitor and manage project progress against objectives, KPIs, and performance benchmarks.
• Drive the end-to-end delivery of complex large-scale projects, from initial concept to commissioning and final handover, ensuring safety, timely completion, budget adherence, and superior quality outcomes.
• Supervise multidisciplinary teams encompassing engineering, construction, procurement, and commissioning functions to meet targeted results.
• Manage financial aspects including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, profitability, contract administration, procurement tactics, claims resolution, and overall commercial project health.
• Interface with clients, government regulators, consultants, partners, and other stakeholders, serving as the chief executive liaison and spokesperson on project matters.
• Lead risk identification and mitigation, enforce strict compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements, and champion health, safety, environmental, and quality standards throughout projects.
• Mentor and develop leadership capabilities within teams, fostering cross-functional collaboration and a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Educational and Experience Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (mandatory).
• Advanced qualifications such as a master's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or an MBA are highly desirable.
• At least 20 years of experience in construction, including a minimum of 10 years in senior executive leadership roles.
• Proven track record of delivering extremely large-scale, multi-billion-dollar construction projects.
• Proficiency in both Arabic and English languages is required.

Industry Experience

Experience in one or more key sectors is preferred, including mixed-use developments, high-rise towers, hospitality projects, infrastructure, and island construction or land reclamation.
