About Specsavers and Role Overview
Specsavers, a leading provider of high-quality eyecare and eyewear, is seeking a Data Analyst to join their Burnaby, BC office on a hybrid basis, with 2-3 days onsite per week. Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders and data teams to identify data requirements addressing business challenges.
- Create data-driven narratives through compelling visualizations to generate actionable business insights.
- Build and maintain analytics dashboards and reports primarily using SQL and Power BI.
- Partner with engineers to optimize data models and dashboard performance.
- Work closely with business users to enhance usability and experience of analytical tools.
- Communicate regularly with stakeholders to manage expectations and build strong relationships.
- Act as subject matter expert for Power BI and data visualization best practices.
- Pursue continuous learning including participating in internal training programs and sharing expertise with junior staff.
- Stay up to date with emerging data visualization trends and advocate for data storytelling in decision-making.
Qualifications and Experience
- 3 to 5 years experience as a Data Analyst handling the full data lifecycle: modeling, transformation, visualization, and analytics, especially with SQL, Power BI, and Databricks.
- Proficiency in data cleansing, transformation, and producing impactful visualizations, particularly in Power BI.
- Experience delivering business-focused reports and dashboards.
- Intermediate SQL skills and familiarity with DAX, Power Query, or equivalent languages.
- Ability to explain complex data concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
- Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills.
- Additional assets include stakeholder management, mentoring experience, Python or PySpark skills, and exposure to regulated sectors such as retail, healthcare, telco, or finance.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $80,000 to $95,000 base annually, plus quarterly bonuses, profit sharing, and benefits.
