Role overview
This position involves operating company vehicles to handle package delivery and pickup in a courteous, efficient, and safe manner. The role also includes checking shipments to ensure they meet FedEx service standards and delivering related customer service support as needed. Other duties may be assigned from time to time.
Minimum education
A high school diploma or GED is required. The selected candidate must also hold the proper license for the vehicle assigned.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities
Candidates must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and, with the help of equipment or another person, move packages weighing more than 50 lbs. Strong interpersonal skills and clear verbal communication are important, along with a tidy appearance because customer interaction is part of the job.
The role requires compliance with the qualifications listed in section 391 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations. A medical examination is required under FMCSA or FAA rules. This is a non-covered safety-sensitive position, and the candidate must be able to remain alert and work safely at all times.
Applicants must be at least 21 years old and be able to read and speak English well enough to understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic safety officials, and respond to official questions and instructions in line with FMCSA enforcement guidance.
Pay and schedule
The hourly pay range is $21.05 to $31.26. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 6:30 PM.
