Role Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic and detail-focused Web Development Student to join us on a temporary, full-time contract basis for at least three months, with the possibility of extension. This role is pivotal in assisting the launch and ongoing refinement of our new corporate website.

Working closely with our marketing team, you will aid front-end development tasks including site content integration, design improvements, testing, and optimization aimed at delivering a contemporary and user-friendly digital platform.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development, upkeep, and deployment of the company's upgraded website.
• Create and modify website pages utilizing WordPress alongside the Divi theme builder.
• Implement responsive front-end elements employing HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React frameworks.
• Enhance website styling, layouts, and improve user experiences.
• Collaborate with team members to upload website content, images, forms, and other digital resources.
• Conduct thorough testing, troubleshooting, and quality assurance across various browsers and devices.
• Detect and rectify front-end bugs and performance problems.
• Contribute to initiatives aimed at optimizing website speed and ensuring accessibility compliance.
• Provide ongoing support for website updates and feature enhancements post-launch.
• Maintain documentation of development activities and suggest improvements for continuous advancement.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled or recently graduated in Web Development, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Digital Media, or a similar field.
• Familiarity with WordPress website management.
• Experience using the Divi theme builder.
• Proficient understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Practical knowledge of React and contemporary front-end development techniques.
• Grasp of responsive design principles.
• Keen attention to detail and strong problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to juggle multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.

Compensation and Additional Information

The pay range for this role is from 20 to 24 Canadian dollars per hour. The final offered rate will align with the candidate's expertise, experience, educational background, and qualifications.
