Job description

Overview

Join the Information Experience (IX) team as a Technical Communicator Intern, contributing to reshaping how users access and engage with product knowledge at the interface of digital and physical environments. This role transcends conventional documentation by enhancing the entire user journey and helping simplify complex machine control systems for global operators.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop impactful content including technical documentation, video integrations, and help embedded in user interfaces.
  • Produce clear icons, illustrations, and technical diagrams that clarify complex workflows for both operators and technicians.
  • Work collectively with international experts from Engineering, UX/IX, and Product departments to promote a customer-centric approach.
  • Support the User Assistance team by managing source control systems like Git/GitHub and improving documentation workflows.
  • Enhance content design through research into user behavior and validation testing aimed at addressing practical user challenges.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Currently pursuing a degree or diploma in Technical Writing, Multimedia Design, UI/UX Design, or Digital Media.
  • Strong technical writing skills with the ability to communicate complex information accurately yet accessibly to diverse audiences.
  • Proficient with version control using Git or GitHub.
  • Detail-oriented with a genuine enthusiasm for making technology simple to understand.
  • Legal eligibility to work in New Zealand is required.

Additional Advantages

  • Prior background or keen interest in research methods.
  • Familiarity with multimedia production and digital media components.
