Role Overview

The Strategic Sourcing Manager III is responsible for spearheading intricate sourcing projects, crafting long-term category plans, and enhancing procurement excellence across significant indirect spend areas. This role demands a strategic leader who partners effectively across the enterprise to achieve measurable savings, mitigate risks, and foster supplier relationships that align with business objectives. The position is fully remote but requires residency in Oregon, Washington, Utah, or Idaho and working hours aligned with Pacific Standard Time.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive strategic sourcing initiatives at an enterprise level for complex indirect categories, emphasizing healthcare services, pharmacy, or specialized service sectors.
• Design and implement comprehensive category strategies informed by spend analytics, market research, business priorities, and supplier capabilities to enhance cost efficiency, quality, and performance.
• Lead negotiations for complex contracts, statements of work, and commercial agreements while considering financial, operational, legal, and regulatory factors.
• Develop trusted partnerships with business leaders and cross-disciplinary teams to synchronize sourcing approaches with corporate aims and influence procurement-related decisions.
• Oversee competitive sourcing events, including RFx processes, supplier selection, contract finalization, onboarding, supplier performance monitoring, and relationship management.
• Prepare high-level business cases, contract summaries, and financial analyses to facilitate governance and strategic approvals.
• Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities, process efficiencies, and risk controls via contract improvements and supplier performance management.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to address supplier issues, foster vendor relations, and promote continuous procurement enhancements.
• Develop and refine sourcing, contracting, and supplier management procedures that ensure efficiency, compliance, and lasting business value.
• Manage multiple complex sourcing projects concurrently, offering strategic guidance and leadership across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or relevant discipline; advanced degree is advantageous.
• Minimum of ten years’ experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, contract administration, or related fields focusing on complex indirect spend.
• Proven success in managing category strategies, leading comprehensive sourcing projects, and steering multifaceted RFx activities.
• Extensive expertise negotiating high-value contracts, statements of work, and commercial agreements with large suppliers.
• Preferred experience in healthcare services, pharmacy, professional services, business process outsourcing, or similarly complex service categories.
• Strong command of sourcing methods, category management, supplier relationship oversight, and contract lifecycle processes.
• Capable of analyzing spend data and financials to construct robust business cases and actionable strategic recommendations.
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, negotiation, communication, project management, and change facilitation skills.
• Proven ability to influence senior leaders and lead cross-functional strategic initiatives.
• Professional certifications in procurement, sourcing, contract management, or supply chain management are preferred.
