The Process Control Technician is primarily responsible for optimizing, modifying, and maintaining process control systems to support production quality and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate daily with production teams to troubleshoot and resolve equipment quality issues.
- Contribute to plant and process enhancement initiatives.
- Perform standby duties, responding promptly when called upon.
- Execute specialized maintenance work on quality equipment, including calibration, setup, and complex component replacement.
- Ensure critical spares availability and recommend optimal maintenance schedules.
- Verify and validate operational integrity of quality equipment.
- Utilize SAP and other reporting systems to analyze process data and detect deviations related to quality control.
- Manage compliance with SAP maintenance schedules.
- Develop and update equipment performance reports (ERI).
- Assist in managing equipment breakdowns efficiently.
- Support instrument setup during New Product Development (NPD).
- Develop training materials and mentor operational teams to optimize equipment operation.
- Offer expert diagnostic support and subject matter expertise in problem resolution.
- Provide insights for maintenance budgeting including stock levels of spare parts.
- Continuously update technical knowledge to apply the latest operational practices.
- Implement VPO principles and 5S methodologies in the workplace.
- Operate and control processes as per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Engage in and coach autonomous operations and support quality at the source.
- Commit to improving personal competence and operational flexibility.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- HND or B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in instrumentation and automation.
- Proficiency troubleshooting PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, SCADA systems, servo drives, and communication networks.
- Demonstrated excellent past performance in similar roles.
- Strong command of SAP and Excel software.
- Sound technical knowledge and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to maintain resilience under high-pressure environments.
- Attention to detail and precision-oriented mindset.
- Self-management and teamwork skills.
