Role Summary

The Metallurgical Clerk is essential in supporting metallurgical and processing teams by accurately collecting, managing, and reporting operational and metallurgical data. Reporting to the Senior Metallurgist, the role ensures data integrity across metallurgical accounting, lab results, production metrics, and departmental reports. Collaboration with Processing Operations, Technical Services, and external labs will be vital to provide timely and precise information for decision-making and business reports.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Gather, organize, and validate metallurgical, production, and laboratory data from various sources.
  • Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly metallurgical reporting frameworks.
  • Support metallurgical accounting by precisely entering and verifying data.
  • Assist in reconciling plant production, recovery rates, and laboratory outcomes.
  • Prepare routine metallurgical and production reports for operational and management personnel.
  • Maintain databases, spreadsheets, and reporting tools to ensure data accuracy and accessibility.
  • Track laboratory samples to ensure timely receipt and recording of results.
  • Help keep metallurgical records, operation logs, and test work databases up to date.
  • Support Senior Metallurgist with data preparations for research, trials, and technical analyses.
  • Ensure filing, storage, and maintenance of documentation according to company policies.
  • Detect data inconsistencies or discrepancies in reports and escalate appropriately.
  • Contribute to creating presentations, reports, and technical documents.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience in administrative, data management, laboratory, production reporting, or clerical roles.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and dedication to data accuracy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities.
  • Capability to handle multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage confidential information responsibly.
  • Good numerical and analytical skills.
  • Commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Team player with the ability to collaborate effectively.
