This position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer and plays a vital role in developing and enhancing the firm's HR functions.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead the transformation of HR from a founder-led model to a scalable, professional department, acting as the key architect and driver of people operations.
- Manage change and integration related to M&A, including assimilation of cultural values and evolving HR operations such as benefits, compensation, payroll, and HR systems for newly acquired teams.
- Facilitate seamless cultural transitions for new employees by embedding CXponent's core values across the expanding workforce.
- Oversee HR due diligence and post-merger integration process regularly associated with acquisitions.
- Develop and implement a scalable recruitment engine to support rapid employee growth, ensure high talent quality, and promote low turnover.
- Create an employer brand highlighting CXponent as the top choice for technology advisors.
- Establish effective hiring, onboarding, and training protocols to attract and nurture excellent talent.
- Design and maintain an effective, streamlined performance management framework aligned with company values: GUIDE (Got Your Back, Understand the Goal, Iterate Relentlessly, Dig Deep, and Enjoy the Journey).
- Define clear career advancement and development pathways as the company continues to expand.
- Promote a culture of honest feedback, accountability, and collaborative problem-solving by linking feedback mechanisms to leadership.
- Partner with Shore Capital and other stakeholders to create leadership and managerial training programs.
- Handle all payroll, benefits administration, and ensure regulatory compliance in HR operations.
- Review and select competitive benefits providers fitting mid-sized technology enterprises.
- Integrate HRIS with business tools to supply real-time data for leadership, departmental, and private equity reporting.
Ideal Experience and Qualifications
- At least 5 years of progressive HR experience covering varied roles within the function, with a particular emphasis on recruitment. SHRM certification is preferred.
- Experience with a Private Equity-backed firm, understanding its rapid pace, reporting demands, and emphasis on ROI.
- An entrepreneurial mindset excited to establish and refine processes from the ground up rather than work within fixed frameworks.
- Ability to balance strategic and hands-on responsibilities, from managing payroll to presenting M&A integration strategies to executives.
- Strong self-motivation and recognition of HR's pivotal role in driving business outcomes beyond administrative duties.
Compensation
The salary range for this position in Chicago is $125,000 to $150,000 annually.
