Role Overview

We are seeking a proactive and hands-on Greenmill Night Shift Leading Hand to become part of the Greenmill team at Jubilee Sawmill. This permanent night shift position is ideal for an experienced operator or a developing leader aiming to advance their leadership abilities within an esteemed industry organization.

Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Greenmill Shift Supervisor, the role involves leading and supporting the Pre-Start and Cleaning crew while simultaneously engaging in hands-on cleaning and operational work. The Leading Hand will take initiative in resolving issues, making decisions to maintain safety, efficiency, and productivity during operations.

Working Hours and Compensation

This is a permanent night shift role requiring work from Sunday night through Friday morning, 5 shifts of 8 hours each (9:50 PM to 6:00 AM). Overtime will be given as necessary. The starting pay rate is $35.33711 per hour plus a 30% night shift loading.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

• Experience in timber mill operations, with knowledge of isolation and production workflows.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills with experience in leading small teams or the ability and willingness to cultivate leadership skills.
• A practical understanding of safety principles and dedication to maintaining company safety protocols.
• Willingness and capability to perform hands-on cleaning and pre-start responsibilities.
• Effective time management skills, initiative-taking ability, and motivation to lead others.
• Reliability and commitment to working a permanent night shift schedule.
• Competent problem-solving skills with sound decision-making aptitude when necessary.
• Awareness of quality control practices to uphold high housekeeping standards.
• Proficiency with computers and necessary software applications.
