Role overview
Disney Entertainment & ESPN Product & Technology is a dynamic, fast-moving organization focused on shaping how global audiences discover and enjoy entertainment and sports experiences. Finance is a key partner in supporting the streaming, product, and platform work that powers these initiatives.
In this position, you will support the DE&E Product & Technology Finance team by overseeing part of the Professional Services budget for DEEP&T. You will work closely with senior leaders in Technology and Product to build financial plans for major planning cycles, including the annual budget, long-range planning, and quarterly forecasts. You will also coordinate with Accounting and Controllership during the quarterly close process.
This is a collaborative Finance role supporting some of Disney’s most innovative business efforts. The role is based in New York, NY and reports to the Senior Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis for DE&E Product & Technology.
Responsibilities
- Create, maintain, and enhance financial models used to forecast and analyze technology-related costs.
- Develop forecasts, the annual operating plan (AOP), and the long-range plan (LRP) as guided by Segment and Corporate FP&A, including variance analysis and leadership-ready presentations.
- Monitor invoices and contractual commitments, reconcile general ledger information, and handle accrual and reclassification activities during quarterly close while working with Accounting to finalize P&Ls.
- Produce ad hoc reporting, special assignments, and presentation materials for internal teams across Technology, Product, and Business Operations.
- Work day to day with Technology and Product partners to support financial planning and deliverables.
Basic qualifications
- 0 to 2 years of relevant FP&A or related experience, ideally within technology and/or media.
- Strong analytical capability.
- Advanced working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong collaboration skills, along with problem-solving, interpersonal, and project management ability.
- Careful attention to detail, accuracy, and a strong sense of urgency.
- Ability to learn new ideas quickly and work with new systems and databases.
- Curious mindset with interest in understanding the broader business beyond daily tasks.
Education
A bachelor’s degree is required in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Math, Statistics, Computer Science, or a scientific discipline.
Preferred qualifications
- Prior experience in FP&A or public accounting.
- Background working cross-functionally with colleagues outside Finance and Accounting.
- Exposure to SAP, Cognos TM1, Hyperion, or similar enterprise financial platforms.
- Experience with analytics tools such as Alteryx, Power Query, and SQL.
Compensation and benefits
The hiring range for this role in New York City, NY is USD 91,300 to USD 111,500 per year. Benefits may be included in the package depending on the level and position offered, such as medical and financial benefits as well as other applicable perks.
