Role overview
This position is for an excess stock trader who will collaborate closely with the founder and product/technology team. The role focuses on sourcing and trading end-of-line, closeout, returned, and overstock goods across a range of consumer categories.
What the role involves
- Buying and selling excess inventory across different product categories.
- Working with brands, retailers, distributors, and wholesalers in regular or excess distribution channels.
- Negotiating and closing deals involving significant volumes of surplus stock.
- Handling opportunities from the first discussion through to final agreement.
- Building confidence and trust with trading partners while moving deals forward efficiently.
Candidate profile
- Prior experience dealing directly with brands, retailers, distributors, or wholesalers.
- Track record of completing meaningful excess stock transactions.
- Comfortable operating on both the buying and selling sides of trade.
- Able to act quickly and manage negotiations and deal closure end to end.
