About the Role

The Eligibility Case Manager at DXC Technology plays a crucial role in assessing and processing workers’ compensation claims within a self-insured framework in Queensland. This position requires accurate evaluation of claim eligibility aligned with relevant state laws and regulations. The role includes approving initial calculations related to Pre-Injury Average Weekly Earnings (PIAWE) and weekly compensation before claims are transitioned to ongoing management teams.

Key Duties

  • Evaluate new workers' compensation claims to establish eligibility based on applicable legislation, regulations, and company guidelines.
  • Conduct thorough investigations when claim liability is ambiguous, gathering evidence, reviewing medical reports, consulting stakeholders, and if necessary, commissioning further assessments.
  • Approve the initial payments including PIAWE and weekly compensation as calculated by specialists.
  • Ensure seamless transfer of accepted claims to dedicated case managers along with all pertinent information.
  • Work closely with payroll departments to confirm earnings data accuracy for compensation payments.
  • Respond promptly to inquiries from injured employees, guiding them on their rights and claim procedures.
  • Communicate claim decisions clearly and empathetically to all involved parties, including employees and employers.
  • Maintain compliance with workers’ compensation laws, self-insurance standards, and internal policies.
  • Document all claim information accurately in the Assure system to support regulatory compliance and claims history.
  • Identify risks in claims and collaborate on strategies to manage them.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment focused on open communication, shared knowledge, and joint responsibility.
  • Share expertise to support team learning and consistency in claims decisions.
  • Coordinate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth service delivery.

Candidate Profile and Skills

Applicants should possess either qualifications or certifications in health or business-related disciplines (preferred) alongside at least 3-5 years of relevant workers' compensation case management experience, ideally within a self-insured context. Essential skills include strong analytical capabilities, meticulous attention to detail, excellent communication abilities, interpersonal effectiveness, and proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
