Role Overview

The Deli Supervisor is responsible for ensuring smooth and efficient operations within the Deli Department, delivering top-quality products and superior customer service consistently.

Candidate Profile

• At least 1 year of supervisory experience specifically in fresh food settings.
• Minimum of 2 years working experience with significant exposure to fresh food products.
• Comprehensive training and practical experience in HACCP and food safety compliance.
• Competent in deli ordering processes and waste management strategies within fresh food departments.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
• Strong numerical aptitude.
• Capability to create staff rosters aligned with budget requirements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Genuine enthusiasm for the food industry, with creativity and innovation applied to fresh product offerings.
• Customer-centric management approach focused on developing a loyal and satisfied customer base.
• Leadership qualities to motivate, inspire, and support employee growth and performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Embark on the brand values of the company: Pride, Energy, Imagination, and Community orientation.
• Prepare and arrange the deli service area with appealing presentation and layout.
• Correctly implement and maintain planograms for product display.
• Take proactive measures to minimise waste and product shrinkage in the deli.
• Introduce innovative ideas for fresh food by conducting ongoing market research and comparing competitors.
• Share enthusiasm and knowledge about quality food through recipes and personal suggestions with customers.
• Provide training for all new staff joining the deli department.
• Manage customer enquiries swiftly, professionally, and in accordance with store policies.
• Participate in new initiatives and be adaptable to evolving workplace methods.

Additional Information

This position is located at the busy Ferns Centra store. Candidates must be available for both weekday and weekend shifts.
