Role Overview

Reporting directly to the Senior Director, National Independent Sales, the Business Development Representative (BDR) will focus on expanding Kohl & Frisch's presence among independent retail pharmacies in Ontario by promoting the company’s programs and increasing market share.

Key Responsibilities

  • Suggest strategies and provide regular feedback to grow market share within independent pharmacies.
  • Recruit new independent pharmacy customers, tracking and reporting progress on potential leads.
  • Negotiate and formalize new and renewal agreements for PMAX and PharmaFlex accounts.
  • Identify purchase maximization opportunities among existing clients.
  • Propose new or alternative program offerings tailored to customer needs.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the industry and market developments.
  • Recognize shifts in the competitive landscape and advise accordingly.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of retail customer programs.
  • Leverage Salesforce.com for managing customer relationships and updating customer data.
  • Ensure compliance, profitability, and adequate support for accounts throughout Ontario.
  • Evaluate secondary accounts to identify growth potential and ensure volume thresholds are met.
  • Consistently engage all accounts within the designated territory through regular communications.
  • Perform other duties assigned by management as needed.

Candidate Profile

  • Holds an undergraduate university degree or possesses equivalent education and experience.
  • Preferred experience includes selling generic pharmaceuticals, wholesale services, or banner products to independent pharmacies.
  • At least 5 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Understanding of pharmacy reimbursement systems and banner/program models is advantageous.
  • Strong business insight combined with financial acumen.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capability to analyze industry trends and competitive data to develop strategic responses.
  • Proven ability to foster and sustain relationships with current and potential customers as well as internal teams.
  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 50% of the time.
  • Experience using Salesforce is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

This full-time position offers a base salary ranging from $75,000 to $95,000 per year, excluding eligibility for performance-based bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package. The exact offer will consider the candidate’s location, experience, skills, and educational background.
